Baby Rhythm

Class Descriptions

BR 1 for 2 to 3 years old: In a fun positive environment in introductory dance class, tiny dancers will gain coordination and balance through varied creative movement and entry level dance instruction through group dances, basic dance skills, and props. Dancers will be able to respond to music and rhythm while learning age-appropriate choreography. Dance routines for both Ballet & Tap will be performed in the annual recital.

 

BR 2 for 3 to 4 years old: Students will gain coordination and balance through varied dance movements to promote basic motor skills development while learning coordination, balance, and confidence. Introduction to basic ballet for proper foot, arm, and hand placement and learning choreography. Dance routines for both Ballet & Tap will be performed in the annual recital.

Jazz

Ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance and helps the dancer develop poise, elegance, agility, fluidity, proper body alignment and technique. Dancers will receive instruction through standing barre work and center floor exercises. Dancers will learn choreography for their ballet dance to be performed in the annual recital.

 

For Tap class, the emphasis is on the footwork. Making rhythm and patterns with your feet. In this class, students will learn to count music and develop motor skills. Instruction will be in center work, across the floor, and barre work. Dancers will learn choreography for a dance routine to be performed in the annual recital.

 

The style of jazz is influenced by Ballet and styles of each decade. This class includes learning isolations, strength training, stretching, jumping, leaping, kicking, and turning all put together into combinations. Dancers will learn choreography for a dance routine to be performed at the annual recital.


Hip Hop

Hip Hop, is a fusion genre influenced by street dance. This class included movements by popping, bouncing, rocking, swaying, and much more. Class will include warm up, center work, across the floor, and learning movement combinations. Dancers will learn age appropriate choreography for their annual dance recital.

 

Lyrical dance embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Dancers will learn to clearly display emotional moods while dancing at a faster pace than ballet, but not as fast as jazz. Dancers will learn choreography to be performed at the annual recital.

Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context
